Maija is a researcher at New York University School of Medicine. In her research she combines cell and developmental biology with state-of-the-art single cell analysis methods to gain a systems-wide view of organ development, with cellular resolution. She earned her PhD in University of Nice in France where she studied how hormones orchestrate cellular and organ growth in fluctuating environments.
Maija recognizes the importance of intellectual exchange between academia and industry. She strives to build and nurture connections between academia, industry, funding sources and government agencies to promote innovation and its commercialization.
