Mayra Tuiche
Operations Associate
Mayra Tuiche is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Her research work focuses on the application of phage display for the development of new ligand-directed cancer therapies. Before coming to Rutgers, she obtained her B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) and her M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Florida.
Mayra has experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, where she became interested in the process of development and commercialization of new drugs. She is passionate about finding new therapies that would improve the health and quality of life of patients.
Through the IFNY, she hopes to gain business-related experience which would help give her a more comprehensive picture of the challenges and innovative problem-solving needed to compliment her scientific background for her future career.
